When you think Easter baskets, tiny toys and candy for children comes to mind. But who says it has to stop there? I’m a firm believer that holidays have no age limit and they’re the perfect excuse for adults to be a kid again. So today, I’m sharing some Easter basket ideas for the man in your life!
Don’t let that big, strong, manly-man fool you. Past his rugged exterior, is a big softie who is yearning for some egg-shaped chocolates wrapped in shiny, pastel bows. Fill up a basket with his favorite snacks, practical items you know he needs, and an extra special surprise or two, and he’s sure to love it.
To help get your brain churning, here are some ideas on how to build the perfect Easter surprise for your unsuspecting husband or boyfriend:
You can’t have an Easter basket without candy–that’s the rules. Fill the entire bottom of the basket with chocolate, sour, and sweet goodness. A great place to get candy is the Dollar Tree because they sell movie theater sized candy for next to nothing.
Here’s where you really load the basket up. Chips, sunflower seeds or beef jerky are all crowd pleasers. Whatever it is your man likes to snack on, get a few snack-sized baggies and start filling the basket up.
Lottery Tickets or Scratch-offs
This is a tradition that has been in my family since I was a kid. Every year we’d get a few scratch-off tickets in our Easter baskets (and Christmas stockings). I don’t think it matters how old you get, it’s always a lot of fun to see if anyone wins the big bucks. Just make sure any jackpots are shared!
Whether it’s a six pack of specialty craft beer or a few airplane bottles of whiskey, every man will be happy to see his favorite alcohol stashed away in his Easter basket. If he doesn’t drink alcohol, an energy drink or Starbucks iced coffee are great options too.
Hopefully, you know a thing or two about your husband or boyfriend so that you can choose an inexpensive gift that he can use in his hobbies. If he golfs, get him some golf tees. For the gym goer, maybe a new shaker bottle. If he’s super into video games, a Steam gift card might be the ticket. Whatever he enjoys doing, include a small trinket that goes hand-in-hand with his passion.
Although deodorant and razors aren’t the sexiest gifts, you shouldn’t discredit them. Small items like this show that you care about his well being–and that he always looks and smells great.
I don’t know about you, but my boyfriend is more likely to wear hole-y socks than remember to buy new ones. If your man is like this or not, socks, undies, and undershirts are great practical items to include in an Easter basket. A new hat, fun t-shirt or tie are great options too.
Although snacks and candy are great, I think it’s important to include something that says “I love you”. A photo of you two together, a handwritten letter or a fun fillable book like this three year Q&A book or a “what I love about you” journal are all perfect examples.
So what did I put in Alex’s Easter basket?
I got the manliest basket (lol?) I could find and filled the bottom with a bit of grass and his favorite bite-sized chocolates. On top of that, I strategically laid out some nerds rope (I might have eaten one, shhh), sunflower seeds, beef jerky, deodorant, a new hat, a henley t-shirt, monster energy drink, a few lottery tickets, and a quick handwritten card.
Once everything was nice and pretty, I tied a bow with buffalo check ribbon and finished it off with an “A” initial tag–a super simple way to personalize the basket a little further.
I hope you enjoyed these Easter basket ideas for your man! Is there anything I missed? I think no matter what ends up in the basket; if you personalize it for your man, how could he not love it?
